A Delaware judge has rejected the efforts of Intel Corp. to compel the genetic testing of two employees who allege their son’s birth defects were caused by their exposure to pollutants while working at the technology company.

Intel sought to compel “Trio Whole Exome Sequencing,” or sequencing all the genes that code proteins, of Janna and Robert Meyers. Most single-genetic mutations are located in the part of the human genome that codes for proteins, according to the National Institutes of Health.
