Welcome to another edition of our Litigation Leaders series, featuring the litigation practice leaders at some of the biggest and most innovative law firms in the country.

Meet Joseph Sorkin, head of the litigation practice at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, who is based in New York. Sorkin, whose practice focuses on restructuring litigation, has twice been a member of Akin pro bono teams that earned Litigator of the Week honors. In 2018 he led the team that handled the first-ever trial in a U.S. Court where a former foreign head of state faced accusers in a human rights case. Early this year he was part of the team challenging Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming medical care for transgender youth.
